Growing Up in the Yukon
Exuberance, curiosity and joy all contribute to the spirit of childhood. Part of a child’s education has to do with spirituality, learning his or her place in the world. The spiritual traditions and beliefs of First Nations people were suppressed by early missionaries. Many of them later adopted European religions and church teachings became an important part of their own children’s education.
